As a group we have decided to look further into both the Horror and Romance Genre. Although complete opposites, we believe both these genres to be the most plausable, so we have written up a list of pro's and con's for each.
Romance
Pro's
- We haven't explored this genre at anytime in the Media Studies course
- If done appropriatly it can be low budget
- It's positive
- Can use teeenage actors
- Codes and Convestions are fairly straight forward to follow
Con's
- One code and convetion is to use pop music, which will be copyrited
- Our actors will have to conventionally good looking
- A lot will rely on convincing acting and chemistry
- Creating origionality in the storyline will be hard
Horror
Pro's
- We have a experience of this genre
- Its low budget
- Doesn't need brilliant acting
- Huge creativity in post production (editing)
- Codes and convetntion are usually feasable to follow
- Lots of theory's on Horror films
- Many subgenres
Con's
- Filming in the dark/ at night will be difficult to light
- Creating asense of realism/ relatability will be difficult
- Make up needs to be convincing
- Coming up with an origional storyline will be difficult
