The Wolfman 2010 - Ideas and Codes & Conventions.

The film opened with a mythology-style proverb which taps in to the European folk law roots of the animal it also fits the original interpretation we had that werewolves had heritage
  • These three images highlight the importance of silhouette and shadow within the film. ‘The Wolfman’ did not use high amounts of CGI and a lot of the make up and shape of the creature was based on the original 1940’s film. Throughout the film these techniques are used throughout the film in order to create fear and an intimidating prescience

  • Also the film's coders and conventions were quite stereotypical to the werewolf genre, the film included a Silver Stake (incased in a walking stick) as well as a full moon. It also was located largely in the woodland area but also included scenes in a church, which reinforces the old-world releigious aspect of the genre.
